The Egyptian goddess of the sky, Nut, would swallow the sun every night and give birth to him at Dawn. She was the mother of Osiris, Set, Isis, and Nephthys. In the Egyptian tradition the earth is masculine, the god Geb, but in my painting the earth is still depicted as feminine with a tree at her navel.
