The first Sabbat of the calendar year, Imbolc (Feb 1-2) is the first stirrings of returning life in Spring. Traditionally the goddess Brigid is honored and celebrated on this day in a variety of ways including tending a hearth fire, burning candles, making and breaking bread, and spiritually cleaning the house.
